Temecula Rod Run brings classic cars to Old Town
Colorful classic cars, some revving their engines, cruised Old Town Front Street during the annual Temecula Rod Run on Friday night, April 29.
The free event, which continues Saturday, April 30, in Old Town Temecula, started in the city in 2014, officials said.
Temecula City Council Member James “Stew” Stewart led cars down the street in his classic convertible as car enthusiasts watched from sidewalks and businesses. Traffic on Old Town Front Street was closed for the cruisers.
“This two-day event is all about community and brings folks of all ages and backgrounds together sharing one common interest: hot rods,” Stewart said in a news release.
The classic car show is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. More than 450 pristine classics and new cars in the works, from Model A’s to T-Birds and Roadsters, will be on display.
Temecula staged a modified Rod Run in 2020, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, and brought the event back to Old Town in November.
