If you’ve seen one 16,000-square-foot mansion, you’ve seen ‘em all, right? Not exactly. This megamansion in Lake Arrowhead, CA, comes with an 8,000-square-foot garage.
Seriously. You could fit three average-size (2,598 square feet) U.S. homes in this garage and still have enough room left over for your Mini Cooper.
To borrow a phrase from the inimitable Moe Szyslak, this isn’t your typical “car hole.”
Much like the $ 13.9 million home for sale on top of it, this garage is about over-the-top opulence.
“The collector’s garage was finished with the same quality as the rest of this gorgeous home, and how often can you really say that about a garage?” said listing agent Gwen Banta.
The main area of what Banta rightfully calls a “vehicle storage compound” can easily hold 22 cars. There is a large workshop toward the back of the garage for any required repairs. The floors are premium slate instead of the typical gray concrete slab you see in most garages, and the walls are lined with built-in display cases to house any auto-related memorabilia.
But that isn’t even the best part. We featured 7 Bad-Ass Garages recently, but we don’t recall seeing a car turntable in any of those spaces. With this garage, you wouldn’t need to worry about sliding your car into a tight spot. The turntable in the center of the garage ensures easy parking for your collection.
Once you’re done spinning around and parking your fleet, you don’t have to vacate the garage for sustenance. There’s a connected wine room that holds at least 1,200 bottles to keep you hydrated. There’s also a full bathroom in this luxe garage.
If you do decide to leave the garage, there are plenty of features in the home itself to make your engine purr.
The open floor plan includes 11 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, two game rooms, a chef’s kitchen with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, and two custom elevators to help you get around.
The property is on the edge of Lake Arrowhead and offers unobstructed views of both the lake and the mountains. There is also a boathouse and two docks to store your water-loving toys.
“It might be the most expensive home ever built on Lake Arrowhead,” Banta said.
And while the home has been on the market for over a year, the agent believes the property is simply waiting for the right car aficionado. The home has been featured in Driven World, and Banta told us she’s “getting tremendous response from car collectors.”
She’ll also be showcasing the garage (and the home) at the upcoming Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance in Beverly Hills, CA. Better get your motor runnin’ and bring your checkbook!
