Critically acclaimed author John Green just put his home in Indianapolis, IN, up for sale, and it might already have a buyer.
Located 11 miles from downtown Indy, this contemporary yet traditional three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home listed at $ 329,000 but is now pending, according to our records.
It’s not surprising that the 3,720-square-foot home would fly off the market. It looks like Green made some serious upgrades since 2012, when the property was assessed at $ 270,500. The bathrooms have been updated, and the kitchen features granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, a breakfast bar, two sinks, and a double oven.
Sure to be a hit with writers, the home boasts a large office space with built-in bookshelves in the basement, a loft area (also with built-in bookshelves), a screened-in porch, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, a fireplace, and a master bedroom with access to a spacious deck.
If you have an electric car, you’re in luck—the two-car garage comes with a charging station. It’s also heated for those cold Indiana winters.
Aside from being a successful writer of young-adult literature, Green is a prolific YouTuber and talked about buying a home in Indianapolis back in June 2007. In the video, he leaves a message for his brother, Hank (also a YouTuber and co-creator of their channel, vlogbrothers). He wrote: “It’s time for me to go to the bank now and take all of the money I have ever earned out of the bank and put it into a house.”
Afterward he can be seen taping his show from the same house that was listed.
We’d like to envision this being the place where Green wrote two of his most famous books, “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Paper Towns.” Green wrote both books between 2007 and 2015, and he says on his website that he wrote most of these books in Indianapolis.
A call to the home’s listing agent, Brian Campbell, was not returned by the time of this article’s publication.
