Laying Down the Smack? Radio Host Jim Rome Cuts Price in Laguna Beach

Laying Down the Smack? Radio Host Jim Rome Cuts Price in Laguna Beach

Jim Rome

Smack-talking sports radio host Jim Rome is still trying to sell his property in Laguna Beach, CA. The outspoken server of hot sports takes has had the place on the market for nearly a year.

He listed the oceanfront home in June 2014 for $ 5,995,000. Last week, he slashed the price to $ 5,499,000.

The three-bedroom Craftsman is located on a cliffside cul-de-sac right above Thousand Steps Beach. It offers spectacular views of the Pacific coast, Catalina Island, and beautiful sunbathers below from three separate decks.

Head on inside through the front Dutch door, and you’ll find vaulted, beamed ceilings, a fireplace, and sliding Fleetwood doors that open onto a massive teakwood deck. The kitchen is fitted with Sub-Zero and Viking appliances, a breakfast bar, and a “custom backsplash made from authentic beach glass.”

The entire top floor of this 2,500-square-foot house is dedicated to the master suite, which features beadboard walls and a walk-in closet. The master bathroom has dual vanities and a walk-in shower.

On the first floor, there’s a media room, covered deck, and kitchenette.

Did “Rome get it wrong”—as he likes to say during one of his segments—when he originally bought this property? Not really. Rome bought the home in 2010 for $ 5.1 million, so even with the price cut he’ll still come out on top.

Maybe it’s time for Rome to call on his home-buying “clones”—that’s what he calls his fans—and see if any of them wants a piece of beachside real estate.
