This Waterfront Mansion in Fort Lauderdale Has a Moroccan Room

This Waterfront Mansion in Fort Lauderdale Has a Moroccan Room

A bar far away

Anyone dreaming of visiting the exotic lands of Morocco need only to visit this home for sale in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Listed for $ 13 million, this 15,382-square-foot home draws on global inspiration.

“The owner is a world traveler who picked up ideas from the places he visited,” listing agent Lisa Grigorian Cabraloff says.

One of those ideas led to the construction of an 800-square-foot in-home lounge with a private entrance and all the allure of Morocco.

Decked out in pale desert colors, the room features a bar for entertaining and a plush seating area for relaxing. The dark-wood bar stretches the length of the room, providing plenty of space for stocking all the beverages you’d need for a cocktail hour in Casablanca.

Providing ample seating are a row of silver-toned barstools and an S-shaped sofa set against the wall with arch cutouts. The cream sofa is trimmed in decorative Islamic calligraphy etched in silver.

To add the finishing touches, “the owner imported some things directly from Morocco,” Cabraloff says. They include the ornate wooden door leading to a storage space, and the pendant lights placed throughout the room.

Although it’s attached to the house, the room is accessible only through a separate door off one of the two pools on the property. A set of his-and-her cabanas sit adjacent to the lounge.

In addition to the Moroccan room, the home has a gym, two steam rooms, a second-floor sky lounge, and a library.

If the eight-bedroom home inspires some wanderlust, you could venture out to the Intracoastal Waterway, which Cabraloff says is only minutes away.
