Former Angels player Josh Hamilton has found a buyer for his ocean-view home in Newport Beach’s Crystal Cove.
The 10,850-square-foot residence was entered into escrow today. The home hit the market in April at $ 16.5 million. The price has since dropped to $ 14.9 million.
Built in 2013, the house is set on nearly half an acre, with six bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a state-of-the-art home theater, wine cellar and elevator.
The French country-style home has a parlor, office and formal living and dining rooms, plus a master suite “rivaling 5-star resorts,” according to the listing.
An infinity pool and spa, a barbecue island and loggias fill out the grounds. The garage can accommodate eight or more cars.
The three-level house is on a cul de sac at the highest point of the guard-gated Crystal Cove community.
Kevin Aaronson of Keller Williams Realty is the listing agent.
Hamilton, 34, had a troubled time in Southern California. He had a substance-abuse relapse and filed for divorce against his wife Katie earlier this year. The Angels traded him to the Texas Rangers in April, a couple of weeks after the house went on the market.
