Former Major League Baseball player Garrett Atkins, who retired after stints with the Baltimore Orioles and the Colorado Rockies, has put a six-bedroom Laguna Hills house on the market for just under $ 4.6 million.
The 7,418-square-foot house, set on 2.2 acres in the Nellie Gail equestrian community, has a regulation tennis court and a spa with a waterfall flowing into a large swimming pool, the listing says.
Blending European architecture with a soft contemporary interior, the house has a chef’s kitchen opening to a great room with a fireplace and bar, plus a home theater, library and striking first-floor office.
Among other highlights are a basetball court, large veranda and spacious loggia with a fireplace and a flat screen TV.
The pricetag: $ 4.598 million.
Atkins has built a built a “prodigious stable of real estate,” according to Realtor.com.
In 2013, he listed a 7,600-square-foot Shady Canyon house. He recently bought a $ 1.7 million home in Castle Rock, Colo., the real estate website said.
A 1997 graduate of University High School in Irvine, Atkins was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fifth round of the amateur draft in 2000.
Atkins spent seven years with the Rockies and a season in Baltimore before retiring in 2010. He played first base and third base during his career.
