Real estate briefly: Azulón at Mesa Verde Apartments wins 2015 Project of the Year SAGE award

To accommodate expanding operations in Southern California, Mark Hughes was hired as president of Windermere Services, Southern California, a Rancho Mirage office out of Seattle-based Windermere Real Estate.
Hughes will manage development, operations, service activities and growth of the Windermere brand in the region.
He also will work to develop franchises in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego counties and the Coachella Valley. He previously was chief operating officer in Irvine.
Because of a high demand for luxury homes and a strong real estate market, the company hopes for continued growth in Southern California.
Allison Lesser has been appointed as director of sales and marketing at Hotel Irvine. Lesser, who has worked in the Southern California hospitality industry more than 20 years, most recently was vice president of business development at BTS Hospitality.
She also was vice president of event sales for Patina Restaurant Group and vice president of sales for the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau.
New Ventures
Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) represented two industrial building leases in Orange County.
The first was a renewal of a tenant lease at a warehouse facility, whose tenant is truck rental supplier Ryder, in Fullerton.
The second was another lease renewal at a warehouse facility in Anaheim where Noble Ale Works is a tenant.
Good Works
Orange-based American Advisors Group, a reverse-mortgage lender, will support the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in Anaheim; Long Island, N.Y., and Atlanta. Company employees, friends and families will participate.
Milestone
Azulón at Mesa Verde Apartments in Costa Mesa won the 2015 Project of the Year during the Shaping Advancements in Generational Environments Awards on Oct. 22.
The award, which honors Southern California developers, was given by the Housing Council of the Building Industry Association of Southern California. This is the second SAGE Award for the apartment community, which won On the Board Project of the Year in 2012.
